Some of these major religions have spitted into many others who in turn spitted into many others, till we have an astonishing 4200 religions in the world today and we are still counting.

Why is this so? People are afraid of evil, people seek protection and power!

We have established that mankind began to search for God since Adam fell! This is because man was endowed with many gifts including power and glory in the Garden of Eden. It became very obvious that man had lost so many of these things and seeks to have them by all means. So man began a quest to reach back to God, and when Satan knew this, he organized his angels who helped man gain access to the spirit realm. And since these strange spirits were able to provide man with many of its desire, they caused man to embrace religion while some went as far as worshiping idols and Satan himself.

However, as we have stated using the prophetic illustration of the making of apron by Adam and God in the previous lesson, this sense of longing for the creator was solved by Jesus Christ.

The inability of mankind to realize this fact has made religion to thrive the more.

All these religions we see here and there are not God’s religion. God has not approved any of it!

See what Paul said about Judaism, since Israel claim it to be God’s religion…

“Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal IS NOT BASED ON KNOWLEDGE, Since they did not know the righteousness of God and SOUGHT TO ESTABLISH THEIR OWN, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes”

Judaism is one of the oldest forms of religion in the world. It was based on the Laws of Moses. Jews do not believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as the redemption work for mankind. So Paul is saying, this is the fault the religion has.

What about Christianity?

Now, if we classify Christianity as a religion then we are correct because it has many things similar to other religions. And this brings Christianity into the list of these vain practices. There are many religious activities in Christianity today. It adopted many of these things from Judaism, Greek mythology, paganism and many more. Many of those things we teach in the church today are not in any way related to Christ’s mission on earth. There are too many junks and stuffs infiltrated by some early Christians. If Christianity is a religion, then it is not excluded in this matter.

No religion can save!

No religion is God’s!

God hates RELIGION and wants every of his children to break free from its bondage!

Ignorance has helped religion to thrive! It is time to get knowledge!
